Zoom Teaching for Grandsons, Day 24 Report - May 14, 2020

Wesley Report:

Mom reads story to Wesley!

1. Words recognition-knows (Wesley Cedar Cole, Forest, Hans,Celeste, l love you, Best teacher.)
2. Shapes recognition- knows (circle, rectangle, square, star, triangle) told me stop sign is hexagon? Will work on (diamond, oval.)
3. Read stories from YouTube- big bad wolf & 3 little pigs, Berenstain Bear's class trip, Ambulance to the rescue, You rock Zippity, Fire Truck story!
Note- l need to be more creative about Wesley's teaching approach, otherwise l let him dictate my original planned lessons!
His interest is wearing low when we would like to discuss the stories after YouTube! "I am sleepy! " is the reason that he shows me every time! I need "advice!"

Forest Report:

1. Show & read his Creative book-All about Sequoia National Park-George Sherman Tree, Crystal Cave, Hollow Log, and a big bird - a good artist

2. Promise to make "dragonfly with popsicle sticks & glue sticks & marker design with eyes- he does not need YouTube to show how to do it- he did it by himself creatively
3. Math addition practice- the answer is "dragonfly!"
4. Learn how to draw a picture from number 10. He thought there were 2 pictures! But it's one - a cricket
P.s. He said the spelling is ok to be incorrect- (answer , cricket.) l will let you handle this when you check his "composition book.)
5. We talk about his choir Zoom practice & his "bird-feeder" project! He was very proud to describe how to do this project successfully! He is so thorough and detailed about he did the project! Scrub-jay came to enjoy it!

6. Watch 2 minutes YouTube about "Florida scrub-jay." It's a federally protected bird! It's illegal to hand-feed them!Owls & cats are the predators!

7. Bonus - We made "dragfly" from Popsickle sticks - Forest knows how to build without Youtube.

Please wash those 4 clothes face masks in warm water, & dry them in the cool places at home before you use them - the medical face masks must be in the inner layer when you go to public places! The green colors & 2 blue clothes face masks are for the kids!
