Days and Moments of our Reunions – September, October 2017

As I left behind that memorable 50th year Hsinchu Girls' Senior High School reunion in October, I immediately plunged into my daily routines of teaching, reading, singing and exercising at home.

The high school days were filled with emotion and excitement.  The friendship we lived for and cherished dearly seen apparently at the moment we met up at
洋旗牛排屋 on 10/4/2017.  I was deeply touched from 劉唯英's 龍角散, 蘇碧卿's 紫蘇果醬 and Lisa's Moon Cakes.  It's a special day (Family Holiday - Mid-Autumn Festival) and we were all there together.  I was barely awake from airplane touched down seven hours ago on 10/3/2017.

You were all caring, fun and understanding.  We became even closer to pick up the friendship where we left from that distant school classrooms, school yard, 婉惠( (夏目潄石社區) sleeping and chatting all night long at her mansion and even Kuala Lumpa, Malaysia, Lisa's cozy bedroom.  I wore the dress (姐妹服妝) Lisa gave me for a special reason of our past good times in September - nostalgic.  I even remembered those two sweet chocolates Teresa gave me in High School at her East-Gate House somewhere - yummy!

I am the lucky one because enduring friendships require care and humility.  There were quite a few of our classmates just don't know how to maintain good friendship and I also deeply felt sorry for the long-lost ones.  I reviewed twice about them from our DVD memorabilia pictures.

I would like to use the special time with you separately to discuss the following subjects.  We can't possibly connect at the same  to either call or skype due to time zone difference (Taiwan, Malaysia, North and South California and Washington DC.)  I hope it's not an inconvenient request for you.  Because I have been troubled and quite intrigued by the cultural and generation gaps for the past 45 years since I came to live in this land.  Is it too much to ask you all?

Indeed, the trip to Taiwan in October 2017 was still dizzy to me.  It was a whirlwind experience around half of the world.
You would think this is it for my part regarding all the activities around me this year, I really can't believe how I did all this.   I hope you all enjoy the Taiwanese songs that we're all too familiar to forget about them.  But, I truly sing for you from the bottom of my heart.  All my endless extra practices day and night finally paid off ever since I came back home on 10/18/2017 from our schools (elementary, junior, senior and college, family) reunions.
Life goes on here with my routines finally. - Thanks for sharing with me Northern Light - I always thought it spooky and mysterious! - about our life as well.

I'm reading "The Hours" by Michael Cunningham.  I feel like I should join the Book Club again.  Lots of things to share.

On-line teaching, Tutoring at Literacy Council of Montgomery County Government.  Advanced Mandarin class at DC Taiwanese School... and of course, exercise - swimming, tennis and Zumba.

My best friend, Wan-Wei, from North-Gate Elementary, sent me her life mottos as the following which I agree totally with her.

"The only thing we can endeavor for ourselves is to keep a loving mind and continue concerning the people who have helped us and brought happiness to us"  is something I am keeping in my mind and will forever do so all the time.
