1. Less enthusiastic today- tired looking! He said, "Mom was doing some
Math work with him earlier, he's not fully understood!" I scaled down
today's lesson plan! I told him to put away the video book-"A Lesson for
Bailey!"

3. Learning how to Draw "UFO" from YouTube
4. Math addition practice- the answer are "aliens" "UFO." Simple for him。
5. Watch "Titanic " was beginning to sink from short video -3 minutes

Zoom Teaching for Grandsons, Day 28 Report - May 20, 2020
Wesley Report:
1. Shows T-Rex sculpture & painting, police boat(Lego) 2. Sight-words with old pictures to practice- he loves the game
3. Practice words/pictures- he knows all the pictures
All 1,23 take about 30 minutes 4. Try to read "ten magic butterflies" story- which he insists that he doesn't like!
5. I change to "City of friends"-25 minutes - under pressure-no choice.

It's a start to show something that Wesley has something he is interested!

1. Anxious to show me his favorite stuffed toys collections! The
socks-hand-made cat/pumpkin from grand aunt in Taiwan and others + books
collection
2. Area 51 mystery book - l showed 5 minutes film about the military base in Nevada that is rumored to contain aliens- he knows about it. 3. Discussion about ghost ships either a legend or reality including "Mary Celeste" which he read about it in the book. Also talk about "boats are called SS- steamship!"
4.Math subtraction practice- borrowed from the tenth- still need to emphasize the concept & more drills- i.e. 40-15....we come up with "mystery" as the answer!
Tomorrow will talk about "aliens" ion his request from his Area 51 book.

1. Wesley knows the word "sun","I Love You Teacher" he wants to do more phonic. 2. We did 4 seasons-spring, summer, fall, winter!
3. We practice shape words - circle, star, square, triangle, rectangle- we need to practice- diamond,oval, and rectangle- stop sign(octagon 8-sided shape)
4. He reads "Peter Rabbit" story by himself! I decided to use YouTube version to make it fun! He watched with me
5. We watch "fire truck" special, You Rock- Zippity Police car
6. Watch "airport diary" song in video
8. He said, "I do not want to watch Four season story!"------
Forest Report:
1. He shares with me his favorite "cat" & "pumpkin" stuffed toys made from grand aunt in Taiwan!
2. He explains to me what "polygon" is! Circle and oval shapes are not polygon! He said polygon is at least 3 sides shapes! We just continue from Wesley's shape lesson! Wesley said stop sign is a "pentagon", Forest corrected with "octagon!" 3. I promised him with a mystery of book yesterday! We had "Loch Ness" mystery film (5 minutes).
4. He explains to me about the sea monsters - plesiosaur & mosasaurs! He reads to me from one of his books about "sea monsters." 5. Math addition practice- the answers are "loch" & "ness." He is much more confident about lined-up each digit now! We have not practiced carry over to 10th digit for a while! I do not want to frustrate him! Have you or Hans showed him face-to-face about this yet? Please let me know before l can continue to make a leap to that step! Thanks!

Tomorrow, he wants me share with him "ghost ships!"
It's a joy to teach both of them! Wesley is a lot harder to introduce my prepared lesson plans! I have to improvise to make something up on the spot; otherwise, he will always complains about "sleepy!" I guess l need to try harder!

Zoom Teaching for Grandsons, Day 26 Report - May 18, 2020
I use "Best Teacher" cut-up apple to start today's lesson
1. Wesley recognized "best teacher" words- good job- will continue work on more-
2. Proud to share his "space shop" Lego project 3. Draw picture of something (?) spaceship? for you with his name "Wesley" - he wrote it when l sound it out for each alphabet!
4. Draw sun and spell it with "sun" -----
Too excited to show you his work- walking away from the room!
5. Use Pom Pom to decorate something on the construction paper(???)
6. Watch fire truck video with each parts explained- he loves it!
7. A video story about "William Watermore" fire truck- he enjoys it!

1. Watch the mystery facts about "Bermuda Triangle" 5 minutes YouTube-
he said he knows all the facts about- 27 people, 6 ships, 3 airplanes
all mysteriously missing! He read from the video book about USS Cyclops
etc-

Forest is such a tour guide who leads me to his newly-finished backyard landscape with his I-Pad on Zoom lesson. He thoroughly described to every corner of the beautiful design and his proud project of hand-made - bird-feeder from the water bottle. He even told me step-by-step about how he made it. Quite a intelligent boy!
