Day 13 (Asian Market, Pleasantville, New Jersey) Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Food supply was dwindling rapidly.  We made it to the local town, Pleasantville, 9 miles outside of this tourists’ city for our food shopping.  This amateur culinary team of four, Shyhwui as the top chef, Shinyee, the back-up chef, Lichun, and Jia-Her the kitchen assistants, somehow, the role play swapped that the top chef, Shyhwui, downgraded to the back-up and Shinyee, promoted to the top chef for the whole two weeks.  We brought all the nutritious food supply from home, ranging from olive-oil, salt and pepper, brown-rice, oat meals, noodles, veggies, and fruits … etc to make sure that we would cook daily the well-balanced meal with good quality ingredients without risking the health issues eating out.  It all works perfectly.  The problem of “too many chefs” in the kitchen was not heard of during these two weeks.  Team Works!
It’s the 2nd Presidential debate live at Hofstra University, New York.  I reserved the time with the folks for the event.  So it was rather quiet today.  Ben still maintained his regular work schedule on his computer and the girls went out shopping at Tanger Outlets.  Jia-Her’s two sweaters and Shyhwui’s sport cardigan and Shinyee's T-shirt from Bass were all buyers’ bargains.  During the shuttle ride, the driver, born from the local, pointed out the dangerous crime-ridden low-income neighborhoods.  It revealed the common high-crime rate problems of Big Cities.  The onstage glitter and casino’s glamour tend to obscure what we have seen so far from this neighborhood.
