The movie industry is growing stronger and stronger in recent years due to the high economic importance in the global economy. There have been many kinds of new movies that are released recently. The end-of-the-world movies have gained the most popularity for movie goers since COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. The secret organization, zombies, exciting action-packed scenes, and heart-warming drama are important elements to make the movies look like we are facing the last day of the world’s existence.
"Train to Busan" is one of the most representation of this type of “Doomsday” movies. It contains most of the elements we mentioned above. The movie displays massive zombies chasing people, actors fighting with them in a small area and a mother protecting a child from zombies. It brings not only sensory stimulation but also emotional drama to the audience.
Because of the shortage of funds during the film production, the director decided to look for a return on their investment in a worthy way to mass-market the post-production in music, videos, TV shows, commercial and documentary series, web-based YouTubes.
Most of the scenes were filmed in the express train cabins. However, the simple background can make audience focus on the actors. It is much easier to bring them into the movie.
"Train to Busan" won numerous awards. The movie was based on a Korean book, then adapted for a screen play. Hope we will see more and more outstanding apocalyptic films being released in the future. The part of possibility and imagination to doomsday movies makes it much more fun to speculate what would happen than what did happen in the reality we face now.
