April 19, 2020 Washington DC Taiwanese School, Advanced Mandarin Conversation Class
  We discussed the following issues:
.  How we fare with the 4th week Coronavirus Lockdown situation for each family:

    Wú lǎoshī (Teacher Wu - 吳老)

     1.    Wú lǎoshī zài tóufà shàng dàile huā mùlán. (Teacher Janice wore Magnolia on her hair)  
     2.   Xiàng diànyǐng míngxīng (Looks like a Movie Star)
Raymond (書宗) and Steven (葛艾倫)

1. Wǒ dài kǒuzhào qù mǎi cài (I wore face mask to go grocery shopping) - Raymond (書宗)
      2. Wǒ dài wǒ de liǎng gè nǚ'ér qí jiǎotàchē hé tàbǎn chē (I took my two daughters to ride bikes and scooters) - Raymond (書宗)
      3. Wǒ chūqù sànbù, Hé línjū Shuō”Hi” - BǎochíSocial Distancing” (I went out walking and greeted neighbors with “Hi” to remain “Social Distancing” - (葛艾倫)
      4. Wǒ guòmǐn (I have allergy) - - (葛艾倫)
      5. Wǒ zài wǎng shàng jiào PHD xuéshēng shí méiyǒu wèntí (I do not have problem teaching on-line for my PHD students) - (葛艾倫)
      6. Wǒmen tǎolùn wénzhāng (We discussed articles) - - (葛艾倫) 
      7. Dànshì, wǒ de tóngshì yǒu wèntí, yīnwèi tā yǒu hěnduō dàxuéshēng (But, my colleague has problem due to all his students are undergraduates) - (葛艾倫) 
      8. Wǒ bān shàng yǒu xuéshēng Zài bùtóng de shíjiān shàngkè (I have students on-line learning from different time zones) - (葛艾倫)
      9.  Shíchā (different time-zone) - (葛艾倫) 
      10 . Xīn xuéqí de xuéfèi-wǒ de lǎobǎn hěn tóuténg (New semester’s tuition – my boss has big headache) - (葛艾倫)
      11. Xuéshēng kěyǐ zài zhège xuéqí bìyè, dànshì tāmen méiyǒu bìyè diǎnlǐ Hé gōngzuò (Students can graduate for this semester, but they do not have graduation ceremony and jobs) - (葛艾倫)
      12. Wǒmen dōu yǒu wèntí, dànshì yībù yībù lái (We all have problems, but let’s take it one step at a time) - Wú lǎoshī (Teacher Wu - 吳老)
      13.  Huò yītiān yītiān lái (or take it one day at a time) - (書宗)
      14.  Corona bìngdú Shì nǎlǐ lái de? Shíyàn shì Háishì biānfú? (Where was coronavirus originated? Is it the laboratory or the bats?)

   Class Discussion 

Lession 41 (服飾店Fú shì diàn) The Clothing Store
1.      Qúnzi (yī jiàn) Tào zhuāng (liǎng jiàn) – skirt is one piece, outfit has two pieces
2.      Yáng zhuāng hé xī z om the huāng (women’s dresses and men’s suits) – all western clothings are from the other side of the East
3.      Chuántǒng dōngfāng fúshì (Traditional Oriental Clothes)
4.      Shēn hé qiǎn (deep and shallow, or dark and light shades)

Assignment on 4/19/2020 - Written words practice as follows and questions for further discussion

3. (書宗) – find out the conspiracy of where the coronavirus was originated.
