Notes-After Hurricane Sandy's Wrath

Note – (Home Safe & Mother Nature’s Unpredictability), Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Folks and all FLLD classmates:

I am in the office today finally after two day staying at home when millions of people were without power.  The worst is flooded houses that they all have to deal with.  I am the lucky one that was spared by Sandy’s wrath.  Indeed, this DC-Reunion trip was meant to be a memorable one of our life time.  Imagine if I plan it one week late, then, it will be a different story.  All the places that we visited in DC, Maryland, New Jersey and New York were a complete disaster now.  The flagship where we stayed in Atlantic City was ok apparently, but Atlantic City was hit the hardest when Sandy made the landfall on Saturday 2:00 pm.  It was a mandatory evacuation order on Saturday 4:00 pm by New Jersey’s governor.  The casinos were boarded up and the boardwalks were torn apart and Atlantic City is a flooded sand-city now.   We are just so lucky!  Thank you all folks for giving us the opportunity to be with you.  Ben wants me to pass his appreciation as well.  I will plan my retirement accordingly when I am ready mentally.  Your advices really help!  I kept thinking how vulnerable we are to face Mother Nature’s cruelty and unpredictability.  How we tend to take everything for granted is just unbelievable.  Let’s cherish what we have so far.

Talk to you soon!

Ben and Janice ,
I am glad we are finally home sound and safe after being out there for almost a whole month

but still I feel I miss very much all the things and people I had came across over there! It is a kind of mixed feeling.

I want to say "thank you" again and again to both of you for your great hospitality and enthusiasm. We all know for sure

it must have taken you a lot of time thinking to get everything going so beautifully for this trip. Without you couple,

we wouldn't have been so comfortable spending two weeks over there enjoying all the things we had had.

Hope you couple keep doing well on your job, and let's see each other again soon and we will treat you as well as you did us!

                                                                                                                                                      Amy

Ben/Janice,

Just a quick note that I'm home now, in one piece.  Ha Ha.

It's indeed a long way home, but with memory of our reunion high-lights
plus some movies and some sleep, it was over.
I touched 'base' at 00:15 AM 29th HK time.  (My flight arrived in HK 23:05
 28th.)

Thanks again for your hospitality especially what Ben had done for all of
 us.

A MOST UNFORGETABLE 2 WEEK GATHERING IN OUR LIFE STAGE!

Looking forward to our next reunion.

Take care and best wishes to your family.

Jia Her:

Great!  Hope you will have nice rest this week.  It sure was long trip
home.  I am glad you had good memory from this DC Reunion!  East Coast
region is bracing the "life threatening" hurricane Sandy after you folks
left town on Saturday.  All the places we visited last week were either
boarded up or under federal mandatory evacuation plan.  We are just lucky
to have such a wonderful trip together.  Please visit my DC Reunion blog
when you have time.  I will gradually update it when I can.  It's rather
time consuming though.  Tomorrow probably is the best for me to do so due
to Government shut down.  I will pray for not losing power again.  The
utility company, PEPCO, has been the target of citizen's criticism for the
past years.  Losing power for 36 hours was not fun at all during February
 2010 blizzard storm.

Shyhwui:

Just enjoy it.  It's our pleasure to spend the wonderful time with you folks.  Please view my partial updated blog.  www.ncku71flld-DCReunion.blogspot.com.  Can you believe that all Atlantic City boardwalks are all flooded?  The casinos are all boarded up or served as shelters due to hurricane Sandy's ravages?

I am so glad everything is OK with you and your family. Thanks for the wonderful vacation we had and we appreciate you and Ben's hospitality very much.
I have been suffering for something like an ivy/oak poisoning since Friday on 10/26/2012.
It is getting worse by the day and now I can hardly see my eyes, nose and lips because my face is so swollen like a baked bun. It also spread to my neck area and I can't turn my head to either side.
I am going to see a doctor later today and wish you all are doing well.

Shinyee:
Now we all have been clicked- (clique) together like honey bun for the past week, your problem hit especially hard for us.  Hope you will take good care and let us know exactly the cause that triggered the miserable situation.
Pray for you!
