Two Journals from a Senior High School student - #1 Terrorists’
Attack in France
To broaden our
horizons, we watched the program “Sisy's World News - 文茜的財經周報“
these days. Our teacher, Mickey, would
like us to pay attention to the current events around the world. She thought watching this program may
help us. Among all the news
reported, I think the most shocking news was the event about Charlie Hebdo.
French is a country,
like most of the country in the world, which emphasizes the freedom of speech,
but the terrorists’ attack happened there is too much. It really shocked the world.
The Muslims attacked
the editor of a French magazine, Charlie Hebdo, whose aim is to clarify what
critical thinking is. The reason
of their killings is because they mocked Muhammad, their God.
I think some
of the Muslims who transformed themselves into the terrorists are so
horrible. They will do anything to
protect their religion, but their actions always hurt the innocent people. Although they hate the people who criticize
Islam, they should not use weapons to kill the people and turn into a tragic event.
I don’t like
those religious fanatics very much, but we have to learn how to live peacefully
among the diversity of religions and races. Accommodating the culture and religion is one of the nice
virtues a person should have.
#2 I Love My High School
Our school held a
special activity to wish the seniors well for the upcoming big College Entrance
exam in February. The teachers and
the junior classmates spent a long time to prepare this event. They even made a nice video for
us. There were many teachers who
said encouraging words to cheer for us in the video.
In fact, the video
touched us deeply. Time flies
fast. There are precious memories
in the past between the teachers and us.
We will be the proud first graduates from Wagor Senior High School. We will be the honored seniors to be
remembered forever in this school.
The teachers are our best supporters for all these years. I must treasure
this moment. They are the one who
taught us what the meanings are for our high school life. I am lucky to learn from them and enjoy
the happy high school years.
I will be very sad
when we graduate and bid our farewell from my school.
